This Privacy Policy was written to help you understand the policy and procedures for the collection, usage and disclosure of your information on Tortsy's services and website (the "Service"). Tortsy LLC. ("Tortsy") receives your information through our website, SMS, APIs, and third-parties. By using our Service you consent to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure and other uses of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. Irrespective of which country that you reside in or create information from, your information may be used by Tortsy in the United States or any other country in which Tortsy operates. Changes to this Policy

Tortsy may occasionally update this Privacy Policy. The most current version of the policy will govern our use of your information and it will always be at this location (www.tortsy.com/privacy). When updates are made to this policy, we will always revise the effective date at this top of this agreement. If we make a change to this policy that, in our sole discretion, is material, we will notify you via an e-mail message sent to the email associated with your account. By continuing to access or use the Services after those changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised Privacy Policy. Information Collected at Registration

When you register for or update your Tortsy account, you are required to provide personal information, such as your name, email address, password and bithday. Some of this information, for example, your name and username, is listed publicly on our Services, including on your profile page and in search results. Some Services, such as search, public user profiles and viewing lists, do not require registration. You may also provide additional information in your account profile such as gender, preferences, interests and favorites. Providing additional information beyond what is required at registration is optional.

Additional Information

You may provide us with additional information to make public, such as your location, or a picture. You may customize your account with information such as a cell phone number for the delivery of SMS messages or your address book so that we can help you find Tortsy users you know. We may use your contact information to send you information about our Services or to market to you. You may unsubscribe from these messages by following the instructions contained within the messages or the instructions on our web site. If you email us, we may keep your message, email address and contact information to respond to your request. Providing the additional information described in this section is entirely optional.

Information Collected About your Guests

When you invite guests to join your occasions, you are required to provide email addresses for your guests so that Tortsy can send them an email invitation. When email invitations are sent to your guests, we collect and retain the email addresses of the guests you invite. Tortsy does not use these email addresses to send promotional communications, newsletters, or service announcements without your permission, nor will we intentionally disclose guest contact information that you submit to any third party outside of the occasion for which the guest joins. If a guest chooses join your occasion they will be required to register with the Service. Once registered, that individual will be member of Tortsy and may receive promotional communications, newsletters, and service announcements from Tortsy as defined in this privacy policy.

Other Public Information

Most of the information you provide to us is information you are asking us to make public. This includes the messages you send and the metadata provided with those messages, such as when you sent them, but also the occasions you create, the people you invite and add to your address book, and many other bits of information. Our default is almost always to make the information you provide viewable only to the fellow guests in your hosted and/or attended occasions. Your public information is broadly and instantly disseminated. For example, your public postings are searchable by many search engines and are immediately delivered via SMS and our APIs to a wide range of users and services. You should be careful about all information that will be made public via Tortsy.

If you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through the Service's message boards, this information may be collected and used by others. Tortsy does not read any of your private online communications.

Log Data

Your use of the Service automatically records information ("Log Data") about your computer hardware and software. Log Data may include information such as your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, pages visited, features used, search terms and referring website address. Other actions, such as interactions with This information is used by Tortsy for the operation of the Service, to maintain quality of the Service, and to provide general statistics regarding your use of the Service.

Links

Tortsy may keep track of how you interact on our Service including third party clients by redirecting clicks or through other means. We do this to deliver customized content and to make improvements to our Services, including advertising, and to be able to share aggregate click statistics such as how many times a particular link was clicked upon.

Web Cookies

In computer terms, a web ("cookie") is a small data file that is stored on your computer. Tortsy uses "cookies" to allow you to bypass the login screen when you return to the Service from the same computer and browser. Tortsy also uses "cookie" technology to collect additional website usage data and to improve your experience with our Service. Tortsy may use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our Services, and to monitor aggregate usage by our users and web traffic routing on our Services. Tortsy uses a variety of services hosted by third parties to help provide our Services, such as importing email addresses, searching for gifts and to help us understand the usage of our Services, such as Google Analytics. These services may collect information sent by your browser as part of a web page request, such as cookies or your IP request.

Tortsy encourages you to review the privacy statements of websites to which you choose to link from the Service so that you can become familiar with how those websites collect, use and disclose your information. Tortsy is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on websites outside of the Service or any other Tortsy owned websites.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not disclose your private information except in the limited circumstances described here.

Your Consent: We may share or disclose your information with your consent, such as when you use a third party web client to access your Tortsy account.

Service Providers: We engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services for us. We may share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these functions and provide such services, and only pursuant to obligations mirroring the protections of this privacy policy.

Business Transfers: In the event that Tortsy is involved in a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, your information may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. Non-Private or Non-Personal Information: We may share or disclose your non-private, aggregated or otherwise non-personal information, such as your the number of users who clicked on a particular link (even if only one did).

Modifying Your Personal Information

If you are a registered user of our Services, we provide you with tools to access or modify the personal information you provided to us associated with your account.

Personal Information of Children

Our Services are not intended for use by children under the age of thirteen (13) and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information, we will remove the information and terminate the child's account.
